Caleb Dillard captured his second SSMS victory of the season at Ark-La-Tex Speedway

VIVIAN, La (June 27, 2026) Caleb Dillard picked up the checkered flag and the points lead Saturday at Ark-La-Tex Speedway with the Southwest Steel Buildings Southern States Modified Series Presented By Schultz Fueling Technologies in Round 8 of the Day Motorsports points series, but it was earned. Dillard held off a late challenge from Dennie Gieber to take the win for the second time in 2026.

Texas driver Dennie Gieber stayed within striking distance of the leader throughout the race, searching every groove around the speedway for a way to make his move. On the final lap, Gieber briefly completed the pass for the lead, but a steering issue forced him to surrender the position, leaving him with a hard-fought third-place finish.

John Sliney finished second, followed by Dennie Gieber in third. Corey Oltz earned Shed Road Auto Parts Hard Charger honors after charging from eighth to finish fourth, while David Forbis rounded out the top five after an impressive night that included capturing the $100 Schultz Fueling Technologies Pole Award.

The Southwest Steel Buildings Southern States Modified Series presented by Schultz Fueling Technologies now turns its attention to the highly anticipated Rocket Raceway in Petty, Texas, on July 11th.
